Just because the X-Box seems to be more powerful doesn't make it a top console, everybody has seen the screenshots of 'Halo' and yes it does look fantastic but can the X-Box keep on dishing out top selling games?
Anybody remember when 'Goldeneye' arrived on the N64, this was a fantastic game, pure brillance, but it did not stop the N64 from becoming an oversized paper weight and it didn't stop the Playstation from coming out on top of the console wars.
So why do PS2 ownwers and fans worry over the X-Box?
Also not forgetting the Gamecube which I predict to be the biggest contender to the PS2, with the X-Box in the lime light at the moment Gamecube has been very quiet and seems to have kept out of the console wars but the Gamecube has had a very sucessful launch, even better than the X-Box.
So why worry over the X-Box when Sony's Playstation 2 is well established all over the world and the X-Box is now trying to break onto the market.
In a few months when the next-gen console wars settle down you will see the same old story with Sony taking a strong hold on the market and taking a back seat will be Microsoft and Nintendo.
So to all you PS2 owners just stick with your good PS2 as its destined to come out on top.
As you have seen what happened to the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast, Sega's first and second attempt ended their console making and now Sega stick to making games, so Microsoft are taking a step into unknown waters as they try to compete against two of the biggest gaming giants in the world, Sony and Nintendo, and when Microsoft has never made a console for just gameplay lets see what they can do with their attemp.
Will the X-Box survive and live to become a respected console or will it end up being used to mark where treasure is buried.
Only time will tell and soon all PS2 owners will see LOYALTY pays.

Exactly. I have no particular loyalty, though I do own a lot of Sony equipment. I own Sony equipment because I consider it to be the best you can get for the price. I own the PS2 because I believe it is the best over-all package for my money.
Despite what I've seen for the other platforms, I'm still in the frame of mind where I think, "Ooh, that'll be nice - will have to get one at some point." There's nothing yet which makes me sit up and go "Wow! I must have one NOW!" which is what I got from the PS2.

Same here. I may get both a Cube and Xbox, but there is no way in hell I would ever consider trading my PS2 for them.
Have you not heard of the Master System or MegaDrive?
Also, what you're saying is exactly the same as what people were saying about Sony before they released the PSX.
"Ooh! Sony have never released a console before, they make TV's, they won't know what they're doing. Stick with Sega, or Nintendo, you'll be alright!"
And we all know what the outcome of that was...
THe point is that people will want to buy something brand new, rather than go for the tried and reliable formula. It may sound a bit silly, but most people will jump at an opportunity of bagging themselves an X-Box just because it is new and hip...ACtually there is no question about bagging it..I am not even sure if they can get it in a trick let alone a bag..
What i want to know is what has changed the peoples mind, with the really class AA titles coming out in a good number now why are people starting to think that the GC or X-box can offer more to them. Granted they are going to be very good machines and i respect all the people that has not got a PS2 and stuck out the wait for them, but i dont understand the PS2 owners who may swap there console for one of the others when its rich games are coming out now in force.
Can anyone explain me that?
