In the news recently a story about 5000 or so hedgehogs getting culled because they are eating some eggs belonging to a rare type of bird on a Scottish island has been the main subject of most recent RSPCA meetings. Unfortunately they can’t really do anything about it, but maybe someone can...
Over the last few years a gathering of followers has been rising up in an underground secret society aimed to face the harsh issues forced onto hedgehog kind. For the first time cameras have been allowed into a meeting of the SSPCH (secret society of the protection and conservation of hedgehogs).
Sonic – friends, Romans and countryhogs lend he those small holes at the sides of your head you call ears. It has been reported by our intelligence agency that our Scottish brothers are under hard times
*a small hedgehog with glasses stands up*
Cecil – yes well um yes. From what we managed to decipher from a discarded copy of the sun, over an eighth of our population are to be wiped out
*the surrounding hedgehogs remain quite*
Cecil – and Jordan’s had another boob job
*the hall erupts with noise as comments are thrown about the place*
sonic – please my friends hold your tongues, we must prepare for the coming conflict. Now Bruce what word do you have from are weapons chief?
Bruce – well there’s good news and there’s bad news
Sonic – well spill it man, i mean hog
Bruce – well the bad news is a ford fiesta on the main road squashed Bruce
Sonic - *gasp* and the good news?
Bruce – i owed him a fiver
Sonic – oh. Anything else?
Bruce – well from what i have seen we have spikes and they have landrovers and the Glasgow university drinking team
*Everyone gasps and the camera battery runs dead*
Sonic continued to speak about his plan of action, then talked about stations and what each hedgehog could do to help. He expressed his feelings and hopes and then called out this week’s lottery numbers from Arthur and set of balls number 2.
It seems that on new years eve every hedgehog in the land shall be chaining themselves with paperclips to something with a card board sign showing rhyming slogans and remain there until Tony Blair does something about the situation.
So if you’re out on new years eve and see one why not give them a coffee, something to eat or if you’re in your car beep the horn in support. Just try to remember they’re only half a foot tall and be careful when opening your gate the next morning.
