Me off on hols in 2 days and want to take mine wiv me...
Ta.
The bleeping thing went off and the bloke searched me. He told me off for carying them when I should have put them through the machine and told me to stand against the wall like a criminal... legs and arms akimbo.
He then checked my shoes for explosives.
No exploding shoes and my DV worked so I was a happy bunny.
I wouldn't take that as a rule for all DV cameras but nothing happened to mine.
That also reminds me...about 2 years ago my dad went to Cyprus with his friend, they arrived at Larnaca airport, and he got out his camera and began filming the airport. Suddenly, he's surrounded by several Cypriot guards with guns, who think he's a spy!! But luckily his friend was from Cyprus, so he explained what they're doing, and they carried on with their holiday.
This is true as they've both confirmed it, and my dad is the only one who'd lie.
What do people do with laptops..? I've flown loadsa times but I cannae rememvber..
> I always thought X-Ray machines wiped things like disks and video cassettes, but it shouldn't affect hardware... but don't quote me on that!
I'd look in the manual under the makers reccomendations. The media will definaltley wipe (DV Cassette, memoery Stick etc) but not sure about the Hardware it's self. Always read the manual:-)
