Theres a reason consoles exist. Its because the pc cant quite play certain games the way a dedicated machine can.
When all we had was 2d games i.e duke nuke on the pc those sought of games we had the console equivalants that were better (mario!).
Then we had 3d on the pc and the same then (i refer only to certain games/genres i.e fighting games driving games etc)
And we have the same now in the second generation 3d games.
But we have a problem.
The x-box.
It effectively isnt a console its a pc thats more like a console. So its a step in the right direction for pc gaming but not for console gaming.
This is something i posted in another thread as part of a discussion on summit but i thought it was a good arguement so i gave it its on topic.
another thing is that i own a pc and one thing that strike me is the way many of the x-box games look like pc games to me and i havent had a console for a long time so....
maybe im used to the graphics in these x-box titles but not of the Cube which is why i have been impressed greater by the latter

well its obvious the truth hurts.
And luckily enough i dont have to worry about how much im upsetting poor cooky because im entitled to my opinion.
Ive made a few er 'questionable' posts but if cooky dont like it he dont have to read it.
Frankly Im getting fed up with everyone who pretends the x-box is amazing and they havent even seen any of the games running or played any of them and they havent even seen a gamecube game or played one and then they go and tell me that my opinion is wrong.
I put this thread here to hear further arguements for, and to see what people could come up with in opposition to the points i made which i thought were quite fair points.

Frankly the only difference between the X-Box and the Gamecube is "some" games, and the fact that the X-Box is more power!
They're both consoles. Neither do spreadsheets, word processing. They're both built mainly to play games! They both play games!

The simple matter of the fact is that you can buy an X-Box, plug in a game and play it! It cost £300! To get a PC to play games like the X-Box would cost you considerably MORE! Plus the fact that with EVERY PC game you HAVE to install some part of it, configure some part of it, before you can even play the game! That is what mainly seperates the PC from the X-Box!

I think if i had a geforce 3 then it could do a lot of what the x-box could do even though the x-box is designed specifically for gaming (except for one ro two ive heard great things about doa3 and pcs are terrible when it comes to 3d/2d fight games!).
