Capcom have stated that they aren't being bought up by anyone, but they now have some smaller development teams working on 'more creative' projects, all four or five titles announced from these smaller teams are Cube exclusives so far.
Did Capcom ever announce their plans for the future, or was that a rumour too?

I think they confirmed it was a rumour that spun way out of control across the internet.
Still I'm betting some sort of an announcement will come out soon about Nintendo's future plans.
