The basic set up for the film is that loveable slacker Randall burned down the Quick Stop, so both Dante and Randall have a job at Mooby's, where they act pretty much the same as they did before - making commentaries on anything that irks them, and having inane conversations about the strangest of things. Jay and Silent Bob are now both clean from drugs due to having to go into rehab, but they still deal, ironically. The film pretty much starts with Dante's last day at Mooby's, as he's leaving to go to Miami and get married.
The best scene in the film, IMO, is the debate about Star Wars vs Lord of the Rings. A superb, geeky critique that fanboys will no doubt lap up, as I certainly did.
Jay and Silent Bob don't feature as prominently as I'd hoped, but they're still gold every time they're on screen.
The soundtrack used was great - they even used "1979" by the Smashing Pumpkins at one of the pivotal points in the film.
There was only one section of the film I thought was a tad weak, and it was the much publicised "donkey show" scene, which seemed a bit too profane for my tastes.
What I loved about the film was behind the sohpmoric jokes, it had a pure message about friendship and how you should just do what makes you happy, even if it's just working in a Quick Stop. The ending was about as fitting as you can get, but I'll say no more.
I implore you all, particularly fans of Kevin Smith, to see this when it comes out over here. It's been a long time coming and it didn't disappoint.
9/10.
