Next(ly), this post has spoilers of SMB on GBA. So it gets a
**SPOILER** rating. Thanks for listening.
Now, to the point of this post...
Super Monkey Ball Jnr. (the GBA version of SMB) is absolutely brilliant!
I got meself the American version of the game from my local video game 'specialist', and it is superb. And it only cost £29.99! Bargain¬!
The game itself is true to its predecessor. The game is slightly harder with out the control stick, as the D-pad can be slightly dodgy in control. Once you master that (within a few hours0 it really becomes simpler, if not easier, to play.
There are lots of courses, some direct from the Gamecube version, some which are brand new. So far this is what I've found about the levels
:: 10 Beginner Stages, with 4 Grass, 1 bonus, and 5 peach/pink castle backgrounds (the 2nd type in GC SMB). Also, if you complete this mode without using a **continue** (which is harder in this version) then you get 3 Extra levels (set in space), 2 new, and 1 which is modified GC Be. Ex. 1. Levels 1-10 have a mix of new levels, or old levels minus things like barriers (almost no level, no even bonus, has barriers)
:: 20 Advanced Stages, with 5 grass, 4 peachy pink castle, 1 bonus (noticably brand new), 5 desert levels (skipping the disco funk background) and finally 5 water levels (not the expert arctic ones) Assumably, if you complete this without a continue, you'll get extra levels, but as I haven't, I wouldn't know. Again, the levels are a mix of new, edited, and old ones.
:: 30 Expert stages, with 5 grass, 4 peach pink, a bonus....then levels 11-19 I haven't got to, but I'll give you info when I do, then another bonus level, then levels 21-30 (which are also mysteries) and once again, assumably, a few more extra levels.
And finally, a surprise for some...?
:: 5 Master stages, unlockable after unlocking all 3 mini-games (listed below) and I think its 8 of the 10 (+ infinite) continues. Only ever completed Master 1, and although the level is .. possible .. the time limit is probably the key thing in these levels, with every one being a dash or die thing. Here's hoping some Master extra as well :D
Now, the mini-games. Unlockable with 2500 Play Points, they've included 3..
:: Monkey Golf - This one made a return, but this time, interestingly enough, with 2 courses. One you get when you unlock, one you can unlock with a further 2500 play points. The courses both have 9 holes, and 1 is grassland, one is arctic. Great fun they be.
:: Monkey Bowling - Another survives, with challenge mode still hard and normal still fun. Knock the pins, get a 'Turkey!' and have loads of fun. No major changes.
:: Monkey Fight - Still with 3 courses, still with the *same* 3 courses. Ho-hum me thinks. Good fun on the go however.
And the credits sequence? Better. Or I think so.
Sound? Very, very good. Absolutely love it. Mexcellent. End of story.
Well, I think I've gone over everything. Any questions? Just ask :D

Anyway
Im not very fond of the GBA D-Pad.
It cost me £40, as I got it the day CA Games got their first batch on import, but I don't care - worth every penny.
:-D
