PS1 controllers do work on PS2, but
1) you won't get the new touch sensative features used in most PS2 games. Don't even think about using a PS2 driving game with a PS1 controller!
2) I have one PS2 game (can't remember which), that *requires* a PS2 handset. Apparently, the game wont work at all with PS1 controllers.

yes ps1 games save on ps1 memory cards ps2 games save on ps2 memory cards its so annoying having to change memory cards when u want to play a ps1 game
