When the war broke out, propaganda claimed that "the war would be a good laugh" and even tried to encourage people to sign up for the war by letting them be in a group with their friends.

Obviously what they forgot to tell them, was they would see more people die in a day then they had seen so far in their current life, they would witness the most horribly gruesome ways of dying, and would probably along with the rest of their mates be massacred or be scarred for life (maybe even leave without two legs if "lucky").

But Operation Flashpoint is different. For instance, my mates will die when I'm playing a game online with them, but they will come back the next day or next minute for another game. The most horrific things you will see is red pixels coating their trouser legs or their faces but it's not real so it's not exactly going to give me nightmares for the rest of my life...

Basically Operation Flashpoint is everything those propoganda people promised. It's a good laugh, and you can play it with your mates and you will love every minute of it.

To be honest, the single player of Operation Flashpoint has got a bit boring, as I've been there done that, and got the tee-shirt. The multiplayer however can never get you bored. It's one of those games that never wear thin completely but you will put down for a while then start playing again for a long time, then stop playing it for a while.

The fact is multiplayer Operation Flashpoint is addictive. Very addictive. If you haven't played it, you truly have not had the most fun you possibly could have with this game. The fact you can download new missions and make your own missions means their are a new unlimited amount of scenarios in which you can fight in. There's even various vehicles. You can fight in the air, on the ground as a soldier, in tanks, even on sea. But not everyone plays Operation Flashpoint multiplayer!! How can this be?!!

So I'm writing to make sure you do play this multiplayer.. First of all you are going to need a friend (or friends) with the game. Get the friend with the best internet connection and make him start a new game by clicking MULTIPLAYER then NEW.

Make sure you find out your ip (irc and various websites can find this out) and give it to your friend. Your friend(s)/yourself can now join the game by clicking MULTIPLAYER then REMOTE.

The person who has created the game and is hosting it simply chooses a map and sets difficulty and then the rest is pretty straightfoward. Wait for your friend to connect then drag and drop your name to the right sides and then play it.

If you thought campaign was good just look at cooperative. It feels good to be playing with someone human who actually understands what you are saying. If you haven't tried multiplayer I suggest you do it now. It's incredible. And if you haven't got it I would get it - absolutely amazing game.

Now me and my mate are off to stop a convoy of trucks which are being escorted by several tanks with only some satchel charges, some RPG rocket launchers and an AK47 without any vehicles. Should be challenging...
