No he's Kid Rock because his father, mount Kilimanjaro, called him that. He thinks its a pretty daft name, especially seeing as it now lacks its once unrivalled originality. But everyones gotta have a name, don't they?

one day an asteriod fell and missed him by millimeters, he was a kid at the time and since then everyone called him "Kid Rock" :-P

Next you will be saying something like:
'Once he was a kid, and couldnt get to sleep. So he 'rocked' himslef to sleep and became known as Kid Rock' (to sleep)
