Please tell me what that actual speed is of the GFX chipset.

Dixon, EB etc have flyers with 233 MHz on them.

Most other articles I have seem and web sites say 250MHz.

With the exception of activexbox.com

No idea, but, out of interest, why does this matter at all? You know consoles are judged on games- not graphics!

the offical web site (xbox.com) has down to (or should i say up to) :-

"An NVIDIA graphics processing unit (GPU), delivering more than three times the graphics performance of other consoles"

which would the ps2 graphics unit times 3 or maybe the gamecube time 3.

which i guess is a fake spec.

CPU = 733Mhz
GPU = 250MHz

Initially, the CPU was going to be 600MHz, and the GPU 300MHz, pushing over 300m polygons per second. However, during development they found that this was not a very good balance (GPU was too powerful for the CPU).

So, to trike a more even balance they changed the specs. to the figures I guoted at the top, still pushing 125m polygons per second (with no effects).

This actually resulted in no loss in quality for the games games, and a more balanced system for developers to use. They can now push the GPU to the limit and the CPU can keep up.
