Something that keeps popping up again and again when I think on the few things that could maybe improve the whole feel of the gaming industry. The main one still being an A-Team game but that may never happen. I pitty the fools for never making one.
Anyway back to the main point, re-makes of games.
Think of the very first few games you played, now think of the last game you played, then try and think of all your favourite and good games between them.

I expect there have been quite a lot you have thought upon. Classics and some personal favourites that maybe not many people played. Truth be told there are probably thousands of ideas that have been used for games since the industry took of. Today we have outstanding technological abilities to make great games that the potential to re make classics into even better games is there.

I'll not go through the whole list of games I played and the ways they could have been vastly improved with todays technology to make them even better games that could do well in the market at the present time. That would just waffle on and get boring for a lot of you.

But with anything there is another side, the re makes could go horribly wrong, there are certain classics that need to remain as classics and remain un touched forever. Frogger is my prime example here, the recent re-makes of this fail to do the original proud. SO care, attention and effort would need to be put into the re-make to ensure that the idea works, the game would be good and accepted by todays gamers.

To me there is a lot of potential here, we see sequel after sequel or the same ideas being used over and over. There have been a whole lot of great games with great ideas that could be big sellers and hugely popular in todays market. If only developers realised that there is potential in the past and not just with what is going on around them.

So what games would you love to see re-makes of?
For me my personal favourites for re-makes would be:

Bionic Commando
Spy Vs Spy
Sensible soccer
Shadow of the beast
rick dangerous
to name just a fes, there would be plenty more.

Even if they didn't re-make the games with the same characters the developers could use ideas from the games of the past. Just something I would like to see more off. What about you?

Maybe sensible soccer shouldn't be remade thinking about it a little more. It was a class game as it was that simple in look and play, changing it could destroy that.

But there are plenty of others that would be great if they were remade.

yeah

Zool

Actually, you could probably just download it on an emulator.

Why do people keep remaking Tetris? What's there to do? It was crap then and it's crap now, whether it's in 3D or not.

I would'nt mind seeing a re-make of Zool 1 or 2 and maybe Rescue Mission which was on the master system.

A remake of Sensible Soccer? What the hell could they possibly do?

If they did remake this game, it wouldn't be Sensible Soccer that's for sure.

I say leave it. Shadow of the beast would be nice though.

Probably the best example of a remake that impressed quite a lot is Spyhunter. It didn't do too badly, but it was nothing groundbreaking. A groundbreaking remake, now that's an idea!

Classic games to be remade...

Lemmings 3D was a disaster, but that was early 3D.
I reckon that it could be done properly with todays knowledge in game design.

PS. didn't have ANY troubles trying to read all of this one. Nicely condensed! ;-)
