One building - has 3 rooms, each one with a lightbulb in, nothing else. The three rooms are side by side, but there's no way of seeing into the rooms without stepping inside

You have 3 light switches downstairs, you need to know what light switch turns on what light bulb

You can only go upstairs and into a room ONCE

How do you find out exactly what light switches do what light bulbs?

I learnt it from my mate, it was part of a test for his training. He was the only one who got it right. I had to wait for him to tell me :(

Switch on the fist switch and wait 5 mins, then switch it off and switch the second switch and go into the rooms. If the bulb is on then it is the 2nd switch, if not then feel the bulb, if it is warm then it was the first switch and if it is cold then it is the third switch.
