Ok, this has been going on for a while, but I haven't seen a post complaining or discussing it.
Hitman 2 has been removed from a couple of shops, due to a level where there are terrorists with turbans.
Sikhs and Hindus or whoever seem to disagree with this. So apparently it is ok to kill white people, but not their own people. This just doesnt seem right? In ANYTHING it is ok for a white person to die or to be to killed, but not a relious person.

What are your peoples views? I really dont understand this. I dont mean this post to seem racist at all, and I understand that some people dont mind these levels, such as some of my friends on MSN.

But do you think that it is right for the game to be removed for this? I wait in anticipation for your answers.

Its not being removed because it is considered racist. The events depicted in the game are similar to a real life incident that happened in a Temple sometime in the past.

I dont think the anger was around the fact that you killed sikhs i think it was because it resembled an occasion a while ago when hundreds of sikhs were massacred in a temple or something like that. If this is true then i aggree that people should be angry after all what would happen if someone made a game were you are a terrorist who hijacks an american aeroplane and has to crash it into a sky scraper? Do you think that the majority of people would say, people complaining about it are being too sensitive as has happen with people complaining about Hitman 2?

I think the accusations of the game being racist are more about the fact that you are killing inside and around religious temples and stuff. Fair enough, but I think that anybody who complains that killing black people is unacceptable in games is a complete and utter [better not write it]. I mean, who cares about kiling white people (I'm white myself and i don't care), but when it comes to black people- no...that's unacceptable. Soon there's going to be some sort of restriction on games where all white characters have to be brutally slaughtered, and not one black person gets a scratch. I must stress that i do not intend to cause any offence to any religion or anybody whatsoever with this post.

Having finished Hitman 2 on yesterday, I think I know just what is the cause of the problems. I think its all in one cutscene, where a man refers to the locals in an extremely offensive and wrong way, since there is always a risk of a misunderstanding I'm not going to write the specific term, but I don't think it is the fact that you can kill people of Asian origin, as that game has you killing people from all around the world, it is the cutscene.

Well, firstly, they're not "promoting" violence towards anyone. You kill golfers - wow. That hardly means that they're endorsing it, does it? Feminists and sympathisers can come out with all the paeous cack that they want about this, but how do they know? Unless they know who originally implemented golfers into the design, they are ignorant. I mean, if you see someone get blown away with a shotgun in a film, does it mean that they're endorsing it?

I saw an article on Vice City saying it promoted violence against women. Specifically women. It said you got bonus points for killing them. I don't know, personally I think it promotes violence against golfers. Some people just want to be the centre of attention :-)

the thing is that those having been under colonisation in the past, like sikhs and also black people, are very sensitive towards such issues. since they have been repressed in the past, they make a big deal out of anything compromising their being an equal human being of nowadays. and they look at it from their point of view. they see a sikh in the game, getting killed, and they don't like it. why should they stand for others, e.g. white people?

it's purely an emotional issue and you can't really blame people for that. but what is weird though, that i can never understand is the question of why the gamemakers and anybody else facing such problems actually comply with the complaints. here is a point where I would say "who cares" and that the political correctness has gone way too far in nowadays world. the same thing is with porn. some conservative people start screaming and everybody start thinking of how to remove the problem. instead of ignoring the critics who should ignore things posing a problem for them.

they should be given a good slap for wanting a game banned just for sikhs geting killed i mean its a game? look at grand theft auto vice city u can kill loads of different races or do they think if som1 plays hitman they'll be going out killing the sikhs why should any1 care wat they think i dont see aload of white people protesting stop killing whites in games... dont kill sikhs...in games IN GAMES its a game A GAME FOR ****s sake a GAME not real life a GAME get it see they deserve a good smack round the head
