Anyway...
I didnt realise how good movies are these days. I aint been to the cinema since Final Fantasy and Rush Hour 2, but recently I been dying to see loads of films, Lord Of The Rings, Training Day, Iris, Monsters Inc., Vanilla Sky and theres loads more. So, soon Im going and then again and again. Cant wait. Back to my point.
Swordfish was awesome, a great movie, great cast and production team, the plot was excellent with a great few twists, and the visual effects and editing was outstanding. The explosion scene and ball bearings was breathtaking, I was speechless...
I loved the movie, along with my all time favourite The Matrix, other great films are Pitch Black, The Sixth Sense, Fast and The Furious, Final Fantasy, X-Men, The Gift, Silence Of The Lambs, musnt forgte Tomb Raider... not for the incredible story line!!! but just the one reason and probably only reason, Angelina... oh baby.
The most inportant factors I take into consideration these days when watching a movie is first the plot/story line (theatrical trailer). These trailers give you the enthusiasm to watch the film, sometimes though, the trailer can give too much of the movie away or not even indulge you into the movie. Next is the cast and crew, these play a really important role in movies these days, with the right cast the movie can be awesome, I dont think now after watching that bloke in George Of The Jungle and Monkey Bone, Brendan Fraser isnt it??? Dont know??? But I cannot take his role seriously in The Mummy anymore or other serious films he does. This goes for other actors and actresses too. Take the cast of Viva Rock Vegas, That Flinstones movie, no way can I watch them in a serious role, they just wont pull it off for me.
The visual effects and sound is another important factor when I watch a movie. Some great visual effects enhance the movie and make them more exciting to watch. The visual effects these days in films is better than ever, the improvement in digital photography and graphics is very exciting fot future film production. Final Fantasy is a great example of this, all CGI, and it looks so real. The scene in Swordfish I mentioned was outstanding, just great. The effects in other films such as The Matrix and Tomb Raider were great too.
The future of film production is going to continue on this path of visual effects, they're allready breathtaking and they are just going to improve.
Some films have the effects but haven't got the plot, I watched Mission to Mars this'morning and there were some pretty good effects but the plot just fell like a bird with no wings.
So.. in conclusion... In my opinion a film needs a great story line, a good cast and visual effects, I may be asking a lot but some movies do provide these aspects.
Cheers for reading anyway, hope it wasn't too much and boring, I got to go soon so If I dont reply to posts I'll reply later.
Cheers guys.
