I saw a PS1 to PC adapter on the American 'Radio shack' site -the item listed as 'out of stock'when I tried to buy one, and I was advised to contact my local branch (which would be in the states), as I live in England this is a bit of a problem, can anyone tell me if I can get hold of one here in England.

Ifn you're asking about this so that you can develop your own games, the best way to go is to try to find a Yaroz playstation - these are official black PS1s that come with all the leads and software to allow you to develop games on a PC... try ebay and the like.
Otherwise, try the PC forum, and try finding specialist sites by doing google searches. If you know the exact type of cable, get in contact with the manufacturers and see if they'll deliver.
