The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
The Gameaday competition used to be so much easier and also the more amusing to participate in. Now, it’s just plain difficult, and carries on getting, from bad to worse.
You see…GAD used to be like this:
Prize 1 – Win by posting discussions, and providing that your topic is the most desirable of the day, you will win a GAD prize, giving you the chance to choose whichever game you like within a certain price range – as in all other GAD compos here.
Prize 2 – Win by contributing to the reviews page.
Prize 3 – Win by submitting a review for any movie you may have seen on DVD, or one you feel most proud of.
Um...yeah...I guess that's how it used to be.
Anyway...
These were all great chances to win at GAD, for three reasons…
1 – It’s free to register
2 – It’s pleasant
3 – It gives you the chance to win by reviewing on two kinds of reviews, instead of just one, as you now see on the new Gameaday page.
Meaning explained:
The new GAD is much better, but in it’s own unique fashion. I just don’t like the competition. I am no moaner…I just don’t like it. No offence though, Special Reserve. This place is more dear to me than any other website on the Net, and you know I mean that wholeheartedly. But this is what I don’t like…
The chance to win on the review competition is harder than ever, because you now have more competition in that particular area than any other. Why? Because it used to be a GAD win for reviewing just games, and another GAD win for reviewing just movies. Now, both compos have been combined to win just one GAD prize, where everyone who reviews games, as well as movies are participating in the same competition, making it to competitive.
But on the other hand, I am not complaining that Special Reserve is not being fair; of course they are fair. In fact, they are more than fair, because they throw in 3 GAD prizes every singe day, providing there is a winner, in which the majority of times there is a winner, anyway - which brings my topic to an end, because I have just contradicted myself – how stupid of me!
Anyway…it was just a subject I have been raring to bring up for quite some time now, and there it goes.
Thanks for reading.
PS – I sure hope everything was explained well for once in my topics - LOL.
Until the next time…
