I was thinking more along the lines of using mines. They'd soon learn ;0.

Now that would be funny! Trouble is, if you herd animals, they get the pattern, and eventually just follow the path into wherever you are herding them. Boy bands on the other hand won`t ever learn, and will constantly go the wrong way and get hit by the magic herding stick.

Yeah, you don't want a Dynasty Warriors 2 scenario. Lots of characters milling about, with the combined brain power of your average boy band.

Maybe someone could design a boy band herding simulator. :)

Interaction could be the key. If one species is capable of eating another, its important that the predator demonstrates a desire to do so, and likewise that the prey feels the need to leg it. It`d be quite pointless to be sat there watching them just run around eachother.

Plus all the interaction of the different species. It could be something special.

Absolutely. This game isn`t all about preprogramed friends and enemies, instead its about modelling realistic community interactions. I hope to see flocking as you say, and independant thought at the same time... if you know what I mean. Computer AI`s version of it.

I know, but it seems like a game that is highly dependent on AI (presumably they have flocking too), and I think that's what could make or break it.

If they get the herding right? I have to agree there! :-) Wouldn`t be good if it was a herding game with rubbish herding.

If it's as fun as smacking the 'cows' around in Jak & Daxter, could well be worth a look. Particularly if they get the herding right - could be good for emergent gameplay.

SR have it down as a 22/2 release date - which would be good. I`ve read a few previews and seen several rolling demos, but don`t know a huge amount about the game other than the fact that its a 3-D Disneyesque adventure involving hreding and a large interactive community. I haven`t yet "herd" how well it plays, but I`m sure it`ll be pretty "gerd".
