What were they thinking, the Dome started out as a good Idea...but why put the thing in London...there are tonnes of Jobs in London. Why wasnt the Dome put somewhere where unemployment is high. The Dome should have been put up in the North of England, e.g. Birmingham where people from England, Wales and Scotland could all easily get to it. How many people want to travel to the most ugly, congested city on the planet to pay extortionate rates to see the Dome. Nobody. Besides which if it was in Birmingham, you would have been able to park the car, take the kids to see it..afford a decent meal at out of London prices.
Now the Dome keeps on taking up money, the average wage in Birmingham would be alot less than London, so perhaps if it was there then it wouldnt need millions of pounds of cash spent on it...it may have even made a profit. What it boils down to is that the rich people in London wanted a place to party on the millenium and they couldnt be bothered to travel more than afew miles to it. Now the country has to pay the price, with our Lottery money being wasted. Dont forget, the rich dont play the Lottery, they deal in shares ... its more profitable. Every day we see the poor man being treated like dirt, be this the Dome or the Fuel Crisis - both of which hit the poorest most. The Fuel Crisis is a disgrace, shouldnt emergency services have backup supplies just incase an event like this occurs?? The money on the Dome could have been spent on Cancer Research, Education, or given to a charitable cause...The Lottery commission is a disgrace...Give the Lottery to Virgin, Camelot are money wasters too

The Millennium Dome has surely made us the laughing stock of Europe. How many countries waste their money the way we do. Remember when it was first built Mr. Blair was boasting how it was Labour who made this all possible. Well, well, well look what mess Labour have gotten us into now.
A pointless exhibition of just a load of rubbish basically, I mean who actually wants to walk through a gigantic human body?? They say it is a once in a lifetime experience, to be honest it isnt really is it? For months they didnt even know what was going to be in it for crying out load. As for the millions upon millions of pounds pumped into the whole project, they should weigh out the alternatives, like for instance:
Several Hospitals could have been built or refurnished.
Victims of diseases/illnesses would surely have benefited.
Homes for the thousands of homeless people.
Transport services, roads, railway improvements.
Education.
Employment.
The Services, Police, Firefighters,etc.
The list could just go on and on. But instead of all this we find the country is paying to keep this hunk of junk open, despite the stay away public.
Everyone who reads this must spread the word
...BOYCOT THE DOME!!!...
Then the sooner they rip that white elephant down the better.

The biggest joke is that after countless millions of our money has been wasted on this chaotic monstrosity we still couldn't close it if we wanted as the cost of terminating the thousands of contracts set up with the dome would be even more exensive than keeping it afloat. While everyone seemed positive about projects like the Millennium Wheel it was obvious from the start that no-one could care less about the dome and the new labour govt should have had the courage to pull the project before it got to far.

Millennium Dome? Oh my God, what a waste of money. The only people who go to see it are snobs who have money to burn - £20 to see some acrobats and people dressed up as 'comedy' characters? I could see that at home. Well, maybe not, but you get the idea. The whole petrol thing at the moment doesn't really help matters either - the government are saying to lower the price of petrol thay have to take money out of schools and hospitals - why not sell the MIllennium Dome, or charge people £20 to destroy it, that would make more money than going to see a big giant 'ladyboy-esque' figure at the Dome. Whew!
