Part 1 in FOG prime.
Part 2- the death of the protectors

Sonic neared the FOG- the heart of all forums. At such an early hour, the only people there were the protectors- notable elders, and members of staff who cared for the forums ridding them of all evil.
But today they would not be able to save the forums alone. "On the 700th birthday of the eldest hedgehog a great evil shall arise that should cause a great terror," was one of the teachings Sonic had been given by his ancestors the night before. What this great terror was, Sonic did not know.

Sonic began chatting to the wisest of all notables- Meka Dragon. He had been told of a great cataclism that was soon to happen- the one called Dringo had published stroies about the "Notable Hunter". Fearing that these stories would come true, all the notables were out on full alert. Dringo had not been seen for some time.
As Meka finnished his tale, the ground began to shake. The sky turned a deeper shade of blue, then grey, then black until all in the forums was dark. And then.... silence.
Utter silence. Not a being stirred for fear that they might cause the wrath of some great terror king. The silence pierced the air- it was deafening.
And then the ground slowly opened below the FOG. The cracks grew larger and larger, faster and faster, at which point Meka cried for the notables to run. But alas- it was too late! FantasyMeister, Grix Thraves, Sniper and Ant where the first to be swallowed by the abyss. They were screaming on their way down, ("like the girls they are" Meka though). er-no, SHEEPY, Goatboy, RastaBillySkank, pb and Wookiee Monster were spared the torture of the fall... and began to sing praise to the Lord for their triumph... before being blown into a thousand pieces by a ball of lightening.
This left Sonic and Meka standing there... in the middle of the now barron FOG.
