I’m finally back on my beloved chatforums after weeks of Internet chastity. And it’s now I’m seeing just how much I’ve missed since I’ve been away. Not least the news of Nintendo’s May 3rd release date for the GameCube (Gamecube/Game Cube?) and the large amount of launch titles available from day one. After reading several GCube topics, I’ve discovered the £150 price tag seems to be pleasing everyone.
But (‘cause there’s always a butt), are we paying too much for what is essentially a box of plastic filled with a few circuits and wires? Or are we privileged to be getting the greatest Next-Gen console available for such a small price? After all, its nearest Next-Gen competitor is £150 more expensive. I am, of course, referring to Microsoft’s X-Box. If you’re wondering why I’m not mentioning Sony’s Playstation 2, it is because I do not consider it to be Next-Gen nor a competitor!
And another thing, as Mr Myamoto pointed out, are the X-Box and PS2’s console, or multi-media set tops?

You raise some interesting points, the gamecube *could* be sold for less as it must cost less to make than ps2, as it hasn't got dvd
(other bits cost around the same i would think)

Xbox and Gamecube have different target audiences really, should co exist well, the xbox Vs Ps2 battle is looking, interesting.

This versus that versus the other ,Gamecube = A CUBE to play GAMES on. Playstation (1+2) = A STATION to PLAY games on. X-BOX = A BOX to play games on.
I'm afraid the latters title isn't fully made up of things to do on the product it represents. WHAAAAAAT?
Buy 'em all.See for yourself.Put more money into undeserved pockets!
