In the slightly nearer future of gaming...
Anybody know anything much about this upcoming Rare release? Its graphics look pretty fantastic, as you'd expect, but it looks to be slightly more "Zelda" than "Banjo-Kazooie" to me (i.e. less cute and less emphasis on collecting things, hopefully some hacking things to bits) (this is a good thing by me, I loved B-K but Donkey Kong was very similar, and there's Banjo Tooie to look forward to)
Specifically, anybody know about the gameplay, or what the aim is?
If you haven't seen it you can go to the Rare site and check it out (www.rareware.com I think, and then follow the links)

I was trying to think of ways of saying childish without saying childish, so we could make ourselves feel better about owning childish games.

(thinks: This is only going to confuse people more....)
(thinks: What IS that meant to say anything?)
(thinks: better stop thinking aloud before people find out my secret plans....)

cue entrance of men in white coats.......

I am not talking to myself.
I think I understand now.
I mean, from the childish side, cats, with pet dinosaurs.
Far fetched would be saying that rome was built in a day.
Or something.

Grix, d'you reckon "far-fetched" is better or worse than "childish"?

I was looking forward to Sin and Punishment, but I found out it is a rail shooter - i.e. you don't get to control movement, just your gun sight, which took the edge off it a bit for me. I don't think it has been confirmed for European and American release yet, and may not be if the rumours are to be believed.

Slipping back to DP for a moment, I remember reading that its control system is based on Zelda, so this also suggests that it may be pretty Zelda-ish. It's expansion pak only, but judging from the screenshots it's worth it, probably the best I have seen.

Rare are being very secretive about this, but all I know (how can I say this without it sounding childish?) You are a cat, and you have a pet dinosaur. Humm. I don't think I can.
**Cough** Right, it actually isn't childish, even though the ingredients are. Does that make any sense? Good. I am looking foward to Sin and Punishment (not by Rare), completly action based 3d shoot em up, simular to Jet Force.
