Which console currently has the best third party support, and how is this ikely to change in the future? Does the Dreamcast have many developers working for it? Not a great deal. Does Nintendo? Not many for the N64. What about the PS and PS2? Well the PS had plenty, but if the PS2 is as tricky to program for as I've been led to believe, they won't stick with the format. Only a handful of developers have committed to the X-Box so far. So where are all of the developers? Why they're making PC games! I don't think that the console has a great deal of life left in it, there will be no need for one as the games are developed on PC's anyway. If everybody already owns a PC, and the same games are available on PC as on console, why buy a console? Nintendo are probably the only company that will survive alongside the PC as they have a wide range of exclusive games, Mario, Zelda, the Rare games. Most games that appear on the Playstation are also available on the PC, and Sega are rumoured to not be working on another new console ever, but concentrating on software and it's ISP SegaNet. That is the future as I see it.

Yes, that's right. But the X-Box has the most chance of getting 3rd party support. It needs the least modification to convert a PC game to it, so PC games developers would find it easy to develop for the X-Box or even both the PC and the X-Box. So if you are right then the X-Box is likely to survive for the longest (especially with Halo going to be one of the first games for it and if the games that follow are similar quality it'll be the best games console ever!).
