Apparently, over half of the titles Nintendo plan to release in 2002 will contain some kind of GBA/Gamecube connectivity. There are thought to be 6 titles that will use this in some way.

This is interesting news. What could these titles be? Will Mario or Zelda be amongst the titles that use it? Nintendo are planning to release quite a few games this year, aren't they? More than they ever did on the N64 in a year.

I love the Zelda games on the Gameboy, and would love to see a new GBA adventure fro Link. What would be better still, would be if it somehow connected to the Gamecube version.

Could a Pokémon title also be amongst these connected games?

Apparently Nintendo are working on sequels as well as original titles at the moment, so no doubt we'll see something completely new to use the link. We've also seen Kirby briefly, being rolled around using a GBA for a controller.

GBA/GCN connectivity rules.

I'm getting Sonic Advance and Sonic Adventure 2, just so I can experience it.

The VMU never really took off, due to it eating the batteries faster than Linford could run the 100 metres. It also took 128 blocks for a game and with only 200 available it wasnt that good.

Now the GBA has long battery life and would be perfect for little add on games. I personnaly think that the GBA link, will be a great success.

VMU didn't take off because the DC didn't take off.

A lot of gamers have GBA's anyway.
The link should NOT be compulsory, but I think that as an option it has loads of potential.

And anyway, a GBA will be Ł60 soon.
I'll probably get one then...

Personally I hope the GBA-GC link doesn't take off, I don't plan on getting a GBA and I'd find it quite irratating playing a game late at night and have to play a small amount on a tiny screen. Similar things haven't worked in the past such as Sony's Pocketstation or Sega's VMU however if you can play GBA games in full screen then I see it being very succesfull.

GBA won't work as a proper controller for most games, but how about say, a Pokémon battle.

You control what to do through the GBA screen, that makes it harder to guess what your opponent is doing, and you won't know details like how many hit points your pokémon has left.

Then, when you both make your move, the battle will be brought to life on the Gamecube.
I hope that the battles are a little more inspiring this time.
In the N64 Stadium games, the Pokémon sit still and take it in turns to pull of attacks.
This time round I'd rather see movement and atleast an attempt to make it look like a proper battle rather than two Pokémon sitting and smiling while they take it in turns to pummel each other with attacks that don't make contact half the time.

I don't want Blastoise to send a Hydro Pump towards a stationary Gengar only for the words "it missed" to appear.
I want to see Gengar dive out of the way of the attack and get into a position to counter.

When a Pokémon is paralyzed, I don't want to simply sit a smile and simply not attacking sometimes. I want it to struggle to move and desperately try to beat the effects of this disposition.

Now the Pokémon craze is over, perhaps Nintendo realise they won't get away with a quick cheap spin-off and do it properly this time round.

I doubt the GBA will act as a direct controller- more like Sega's VMU.

Not only could you download characters from games onto the GBA, and then play and train them elsewhere (I'm thinking Pokemon here), but the handheld could even be used to act as a screen for games- in Code Veronica the VMU acted as a health display, meaning that the game's screen was clear.

Oh, and by using the reported SNES-GBA copnverter, you can then play SNES games via your TV screen!

I personally think the GBC/gba connection wont work....

IF the GBA will be used as a controller, it wont work...
Where will all the buttons go?

There are 4 buttons and a D-Pad to substitute 3 buttons,a D-pad, a C-Stick and a Control Stick... how will it work?

I'll be getting a GBA for Sonic Advance, but in the heat of nostalgia last night I set up my MegaDrive and I have to say Sonic 3 is going to take some beating.

I'll be getting the Sonic duo too.

Pokémon will definately use the feature.
It'll be interesting to see what everyone makes of it.
