you cma download the bios file (usually a .BIN file) from your motherboard site, make sure it is the one you need then create a windows boot floppy or if you know how to create a dos boot disk then copy the .BIN file and awdflash.exe (or whatever flash .exe program it uses) to the floppy (now make a note of the exact name of the .BIN file) leave the floppy in the floppy drive and restart computer it should now boot to the floppy and if it is a windows boot disk it should say something like this
boot to dos without cd rom support
boot to dos with cd rom support
boot to dos with netwrok support
choose either boot to dos without cd rom support, now it should go to a "command prompt"
A:/
if you just have a simple dos boot disk then you will see A:/ straight away
now type
A:/awdflash.exe (or whatever the flash software is)
and you will get a screen which will ask you what thename of the file you want to copy to the bios this is were you type you .BIN file down making sure it is exact.
WARNING: when bios is writing do not restard or power off computer.

I recently upgraded my Intel GB850 board using just such a program from the Intel site. Downloaded, ran (in WinXP), system rebooted and BIOS was updated, before returning me to Windows.
Just make sure you get the right version for your board, or you *may* trash it - though most of the utilities perform some sort of check/test first to make sure it's okay to do.
