Will the PS3 be better? My opinion, not by much. Graphics card will be upgraded and maybe the DVD player but what else is there to do?
A P4 chip in PS3? Good god, no.

Well, the actual spec design, as it stands, is looking to use chips that will have 1000times more transistors than the current one, graphics with hundred of millions of polygons, and far better sound.
However, these are purely theoretical specs- they are being created based on PREDICTED chip design of the future.

I think Sony have learned from their mistakes and can't see the PS3 having any holdbacks such as the DVD player or PS1/PS2 compatibility. I think they'll go for "out with the old, in with the new" so the system will hopefully be designed specifically and only for PS3 games.
