Obviously wrestlers begin to have to tone down things as they get a little older, especially if injuries have taken their toll over the years. It's very rare these days to see the Undertaker flying over the top ropes to the floor as he did when he was younger, but for ever wrestler who has been slowed through injury, others, such as X-Pac manage to do the same high risk moves as they did early on in their careers.
Another imprtant issue to adress is that of shelf-life, if a wrestler is constantly rammed down the fans throat, they will eventually tire of him, especially if his skills start to wane. Hulk Hogan is a prime example of this. He had to turn heel to get over in WCW because the fans were bored of seeing him as a face.
So I guess in conclusion, age itself doesn't matter too much as long as the wrestler can keep himself fresh in the eyes of the fans and in good shape physically. So Raven...come back, you're not too old for that title push you desperately want. But Nash, Hall and Hogan...forget it, your gimmick is done.
Look at Jeff, a few more years and he'll bad as bad as Undertaker. He needs to slow down or he's in danger of having a short career

Very well said!

That's quite right.
