The console race is really starting to hot up now and boy am I excited. The Playstation 2 has alredy set enormous standards and they are only going to get better. Playstation have had some great realese titles including arguably the best game ever Grand Theft Auto and other big names like WWF Smackdown Just Bring it, Max Payne and Tony Hawks 3 and to be honest I could go on for at least 6 more titles but I don't want to bore you. The playstation I think will stay top of the list and become one of the best consoles ever but that is just my opinion and many people may disagree. I think the biggest contender to the all mighty Playstation 2 will be Microsifts Xbox.
I have to agree that it looks mighty impressive and may well be the console to knock the king off of it's podium. The Xbox has announced some big titles including one to watch HALO the first person shootem up with the graphical power to change the gaming world forever. Some other big titles to come out on Xbox are WWF Raw,Wreckless,Tony Hawks 3,Star wars obi-wan,Max payne and ssx tricky and many more which all look great so it will certainly be a contender for the number 1 spot so Playstaion watch over your shoulders!!.
Nintendo's gamecube I certainly see as the weakest link out of the three. I think that the n64 may have something to do with my feelings torwards this because I think that It was a complete waste of time and may have done there reputation worse then good. I for one am no longer a fan of Nintendo but I still would like to see them up there and In the thick of it just to make it that bit more exciting. The gamecube looks kiddish as soon as you see the consoles and most of the games look that tey are to be played by 10 year olds. This is ok but if you look around Nintendo then you will see that it is the older people who buy Computer game consoles and not the kids( I thought they had learnt there lesson from the n64 obviously not). I know some people will probably disagree with me for knocking the Nintendo but it is only my thoughts, so bare that in mind. Gamecube currently has the biggest number of game launches for the birth of the gamecube so we will see how they but I think they will be the weakest. If you think otherwise then please leave your thoughts in this topic forum.

I disagree. I think that while the Ps2 will hold up, at least for this round of consoles. I think the other two will be fairly even, maybe GC on top slightly. GC will not be a long way off I think. It is doing well in Japan now after a muted launch, and is virtually neck and neck with XBOX in the US. In Europe, things are definitely looking rosy, as the £150 price tag can only bode well. Its a truly fabolous price. And it also has an expansive and impressive launch line up. And the GBA connectivity thing, and the fact that GBA owners will naturally lean towards GC. By the way, out of the XBox titles you mentioned (6 I think), 4 were not exclusive. Halo is going to PC as well, and SSX tricky, THPS3 and something else (cant be bothered to check) are going multi format.
So I think it will be ( for this round at least):
1) Sony
2=) Nintendo

4) Sega.
