Think high street store that likes dogs if you didn't get the clue before.
Someone here who's opinion I trust said it was excellent, but I missed it.
Dammit.
On a brighter note, I watched J&SBSB again last night.
Excellent production, thoroughly chilling, thought-provoking and well worth seeing.
Sorry for the tangent, feel free to get the topic back to fat men and monkeys as soon as you see fit.
It still stands above most of the pap out there, but compared to his others, I like the juvenile movies more.
If I want serious drama and stuff, I'll go watch Kurosawa.
If I want to see a fatman dressed like Batman, I'll watch Smith.
Dogma was just a meandering and clumsy religious satire (Life of Brian did it much better) and JASBSB was just silly. Really funny in places but frankly a messy road movie for a cult following.
Both had their fair share of good moments but Chasing Amy stands up as a refreshingly well scripted (and reasonably well acted) movie and a heartfelt personal statement from one of my favourite writers.
And it had Jason Lee in it. A lot. That is a good thing.
Mallrats rules.
Maybe because that was the 1st one I saw after Clerks, and was basically the same juvenile smut-humour in colour.
Chasing Amy was a tad too "meaningful" for me, I like that in a film but I like it when Smith goes for the funnies.
But hey, that's me.
