The reasons above could well swing widely in Microsofts favour as they enter the gaming world, with Sony blundering away with the media, Microsoft could well take over an important share of the market! All they need is to keep making more decisions like this and the rest will be floundering.
Still i would like that AMT officially replaces the word "English" in his post to "British" because all British citizens suffer the same!
I think that Microsoft will heavily test their console, and you have to remember that Microsoft haven't got a reputation for hardware, as they do software y'see, so don't have low expectations just because of some of their software exploits. And anyway, have Sega or Sony or Nintendo ever made an entire Operating System and dealt with compatibility issues on it? have they?
Of course low expectations will be good because then you will be impressed if they make a great launch, whereas with high expectations you have of the others, you are more likely to be dissapointed. I expect Microsoft will be very careful to get everything right before release of their console, or else there would be little point in having it (consoles are harder to update and all).
Sony's problems with the playstation in Japan means that we will (hopefully) be getting a better version of the console than them.
