i didn't know which forum to put this in but as it's more about ferguson then mcmahon i thought it should go in this one.

anyway you may be wondering *how on earth are these 2 people similar, what's old Ben Hodgetts been drinking now* well it may be a mad comparison but i think it's one that's correct. For you that don't know, Vince Mcmahon has just announced he's going to destroy the WWF the very thing he created (well his grandfather did but ah well). Now this brings me to Fergie who in my opinion in his last year seems to be destroying the very thing he created. When Fergie took over Man Utd weren't the unstoppable juggernaut they are now (well until this season) they were barely able to qualify for europe and weren't winning the league year after year and destroying every team. however over the last 7 or 8 years Fergie transformed a team of middle table obscurity to a champions league winning team. We've had many great players play for Man Utd and wear the red of Manchester over the last decade names such as Hughes, Schemichel, Cantona, Pallister and Bruce (the best defence of the 90's i think), cole and then the current such as keane, giggs, beckham, veron and finally Van the man.

However before this season even started something was wrong with Ferguson. He sold our only good defender in Jaap Stam before the champions league deadline, and yes i know Johnsens good, that is when he's playing and not on the shelf and brown still needs a few more years to live up to his potential. Now anyone with half a brain should have realised that no one is going to sell their good defenders to a rival of Man Utd's quality without hiking the price up by at least 10 million. So Man Utd couldn't get Thuram or Hofland before the champs league deadline so who does fergie in his infinite wisdom bring in? a 36 year old Laurent Blanc who'll be collecting his football pension this year or next. Now he may have been good 10 years ago but now he's old and slow and makes more errors than the nevilles combined.

So what does fergie do about this after about 6 months of watching error after basic error from his defence? He goes and signs Forlan from Independiante for 6.9M a very good striker after proving himself in South America. Now call me crazy but if your defence is leaking more than a broken tap and your striker is banging them in game after game the first place you should be looking to buy is in the defence department. It's not as if Man Utd are poor and can't afford just to open the chequebook and buy anyone they want. The only thing that would stop them is if the player decides not to go.

but oh no fergie decides everythings ok we don't need a new defender. he just seems not to care anymore. beckham seems to be on the verge of leaving he ain't too bothered about that, barthez is making more errors than edexcel and blanc makes another error today he isn't too bothered about that either. The only reason he may stay on another year is so he makes sure Beckham leaves on a free instead of a 40-50 million fee. He seems to be taking down Man United from the inside and making them a shadow of their former champions league winning selves. He's doing what no one or team has been able to do and that's put united on the backfoot and on the defence.

So just like Vince McMahon is going to take down the WWF, Alex Feguson has already taken down Man United. That is unless he shows some sense in the next month and buy ayala, hofland or at least 1 world class defender

I don't think you can compare Ferguson to Vince McMahon because that is actually a storyline where as Ferguson isn't in a Storyline.

Stam was sold because in his Auto-Biography he was, well....being rather rude to some of the players at Man United.

He said The Neville brothers are gay puffs and Beckham should stay with them because he is the right sort for them.

And he said that The Nevile brothers are always the first to traning like "goody-goodys" (thats what he actually said!)

So really he had to go.

Ferguson is also like Vince McMahon in the fact that both have taken their business(club) from obscurity to the height of the industry, whilst being hated along the way.

Both are also very under-appreciated.

And yes Hogan is coming back. Watch Smackdown on Sat 2nd

*chucks spam grenade at the lot of them*

Fergie has made some stupid mistakes this year in my opinion. Selling Stam was stupid yes...buying blanc probably even stupidier. But I can see what he was thinking of in signing Blanc. Blanc has done it all, a world cup winner. He wanted someone Brown could leanr from, Blanc has the experience and could guide Brown to become a world class defender.

Worked out a bit differently though...Blanc shoudnt be playing in the premiership for any team really. He wasnt playing for Inter in Seria A, why did fergie think he would work in the premiership?

Then we come to the stupid idea of playing with one striker. We are a team who like to go all out attack. Sowhat the hell is behind the idea of only playing with one striker? Fergie has reverted to 4-4-2 a few times this season and we have done well, but he always like to play the 4-4-1-1 here and there. Scholes hasnt had one decent game playing that position, yet Fergie continues to experiment with it...I can understand using it for Europeon away mathes, but not at bloody Old trafford.

I'm just hoping the arrival of Forlan means we will be playing 4-4-2 more often.

Anyone know when Johnson and Brown are back?

And is Hulk Hogen really coming back?!
