Well personally i think its a bunch of ABSOLUTE........ well ya know what i mean, that people will be able to stand in a virtual room and play a virtual game almost as real life!!! I dont think that will be acheivable in OUR life (being 16) BUT the future of gaming on consoles and personal computers will almost certainly advance into a absolute shower of colours, games and graphics rendered so well that they look like the real thing!!! I really like the way that we have already advanced as Team Fortress 2 (soon to be released on the PC) Has incorperated a voice communicating lip syncing chat relay. This will add real depth to the game as typing is just too slow for some people. Also cameras in a couple of years (but dont hold ya breath) we could have holograms instead!!! We could build our own skins and play against eachother on games or meet in chat rooms with a home made polygonial figurine of yaself (avatar). You'll find if you pop the word "avatar" into most search engines that you can find sites where you can already scan in your own skins, via a facial photo, edit it, layer it onto the wireframe, and then use it to interract with other avatars. The VR scenario is not as far away as most of us think though, I would estimate around 15 years at the most before mass produced affordable systems are commonplace.
