Transformers – The Original Animated Series DVD
Out: End of this month
Yes, all you fans of those Robots In Disguise will be in for a treat. Six episodes from the original Transformers series will be making a comeback on DVD. This includes the pilot episode, the great dumb Dinobots episode and a nice three parter.
So get ready to relive all those transforming noises again as you crunch yourself up into a ball and pretend you are Optimus Prime.
Star Trek the Motion Picture
Out: 8th April 2002
Expect a special silver foil edition to go with the other 5 Star Trek movies, if they don’t then everyone who collected the rest might get a bit miffed. This is the special Directors Cut with remodelled Special Effects and a new soundtrack to bring the film into the next millenium. It’s been a big hit in the US already, but we’ll have to wait till April to see whether Kirk and Co can still show us all how to ‘boldly go’.
The Best of the Muppets.
Out: 11th March 2002
While we wait for a hopeful release of the whole series (just like the video set which has just come out) Fans of the furry ones will be pleased to hear that the best of DVD should contain all the items from the two Best of Muppets videos released a couple of years ago and possibly more. It should just about tide us over!
Spaced – Series 2
Yes, the excellent and offbeat Channel 4 sit-com is back, with more extras, more references to Star Wars and an intriguing "Homage-o-meter", as well as all the usual commentary and featurettes. If you haven’t seen this before, go buy the first series and then buy this, it’s how sit-coms should be.
> The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy TV series is as well....
With the 'making of' too, which is well worth getting it for, and some nice hidden extras such as the 'dr who' parody alternative credits.
