It was down quite a huge margin last year.

Whats your favourite console, including pc?
I've clocked up near 200 hours on a game I only started last month. And from the current version of CM i have clocked up in excess of 1000 hours.
Next month see;s the injection of CM4 with a completley new match engine and I have no doubt it will be the biggest selling PC game of the year.
In a sense though you're right about the online thing, in that it does keep PC gaming alive, but I'm not talking about playing online, I'm talking about the communities that spring up from certain games.
Take Half-Life for example, it sank without a trace on the PS2, but it's still on pretty much everyone's PC to this day. This is because of the large modding community that has sprung up, giving some excellent multiplayer and single player mods such as Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress and Natural Selection, all class games and all free.
There are many other things, which keep PC gaming alive also, but I think I've proven my point.
