With its dour image of pale-faced geekiness and overly complicated technological wizardry, PC antivirus software was in need of a radical facelift in order to appeal to the average dumb Joe who knows less than zero about PCs and all the associated problems with viruses. So, some clever boffins came up with the idea of making celebrity endorsed antivirus software using popular personalities to appeal more directly to PC amateurs.
Wilbur Norton, one of the famous Norton brothers and founder of Norton said, “With the amount of nasty e-mail viruses around these days, we felt that not enough people knew about antivirus software, so thought that making this special celebrity edition of Norton would help people’s understanding of this important area of PC protection, and make it fun for all the family.”

A computer geek interviewed said, “With ever-increasing numbers of “normal” people getting connected to the internet looking for all kinds of weird and wonderful things and opening up mysterious e-mail attachments, viruses spread quickly and are sometimes very devastating. Many simpletons find that without proper knowledge of computer viruses, they spread them to friends and colleagues unknowingly, causing more chaos than is necessary.”
An ordinary person off the street interviewed said, “I have a PC but know absolutely nothing about antivirus software, so it’s great that there’s finally a program that appeals to plebs like me who spread viruses, plus being endorsed by the hilarious Graham Norton is a really great bonus. He cracks me up.”

Squeaky high-pitched overly gay TV presenter/comedian Graham Norton was chosen to endorse the new antivirus software for dummies, as he conveniently has the name Norton, plus the camp celebrity appeals to the many simple-minded individuals out there who help spread the viruses.
Graham Norton Antivirus is software that in essence, sends a miniature version of the camp TV presenter into your computer, protecting you from a number of viruses. It has a simplified pink-coloured interface, allowing computer novices to set up the antivirus programme with little fuss or hassle. Plus, because it’s highly simplified, there’s no techno-babble jargon to worry about, you just pop the disc into your CDROM drive, and let Graham guide you through the easy set-up.

As well as getting the regular main antivirus program with all the regular features, you also get a desktop Graham Norton, who wears a number of different flamboyant sparkly costumes, can be kitted out with many funny and risqué accessories, and has over a hundred innuendo-filled jokes and anecdotes to liven up your day. Graham has recorded numerous amusing phrases to entertain the user such as, “I work all day and all night protecting you from transmitted diseases…Oooooo *nudge nudge*”, and “is that a Trojan Horse in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?!”
The virtual Graham rummages through your inbox, prying into your affairs, and he scans and reads all incoming and outgoing personal e-mails, saying witty comments like “Oooooo well I never” and “like, girlfriend, so should dump that zero and get yourself a hero!”
Plus, because of his filthy mind, Graham can identify threats quickly and easily, so it is believed that with Graham Norton Antivirus on your computer, no nasty viruses will dare infect you!!

Graham Norton Antivirus, the saviour for all PC newbies will be in the shops sometime in the first half of 2003, and it’s sure to brighten up the usually dull antivirus software market.

Heh, -kinda- been done before, by a certain Mr Snuggly. :0) But that was Edward Norton, not Graham.

So um, never mind. :0)
