Rumour has it that Codemasters are becoming third-party Nintendo developers, and may work on a Gamecube Colin McRae game.
Nintendo of Japan have recently listed 15 new developers that re working with them, and included are British based development team the Codemasters, the chaps behind classic titles like Micro Machines, the Dizzy series and the Colin McRae and TOCA racing games. Seeing as the Dizzy games aren't really big business anymore, it's a pretty fair bet that the Codies other biggest franchise, the sublime Colin McRae series is heading to Gamecube.

Colin McRae 3 is already heading to PS2 and Xbox, so a Gamecube version wouldn't come as too much of a shock to the system. Expect more soon.

Does this mean they will be exclusive to the gamecube or just a producer of games???

In my opinion only Konami comes close to beating Codemasters to the BEST DEVELOPER crown. If you look at the companys history and some of the games they have released, it will be clear to you just how good they are.

Colin McRae 1+2 and 3 coming soon
Music, Music 2000 and MTV Music 2
LMA Manager series
the forthcoming Prisoner of War
Micro Machines (i think Codies made that)
Brian Lara Cricket....

The list goes on. The company has never really made a bad game-Prince Naseem Boxing was the only so-so game they have ever released and they have learnt from their mistakes and are about to release a new boxing sim on the PS2 that promises to beat Knockout Kings 2002 to the podium.

Codies use a great engine for their games and I have always trusted Codies when it came to games. Its a pity they are not making sports sims yet cause I think they would be pretty darn good at it
