This game is looking good and PlanetGameCube said that it had a superb multiplayer mode.

One question though:
The DC version was 2 player.
All the previews I've read said 2 player.
The review said great multiplayer but failed to specify how many players there could be.

I'd hope that it's a four player game (especially as most of the emphasis is on the multiplayer), but lazy conversions like Tony Hawks 3 (which was left 2 player only for the GC release - why? It's not as if the Gamecube wasn't powerful enough!!) have proved that if might not be the case.

Does anyone know how many people can play Sonic Adventure's multiplayer at a time?

This might decide whether I get the game.

To be honest Strafex, I don't think anyone knows....

What confuses me is that on Nintendo.com, there's a screenshot featuring Chaos from the original Sonic Adventure!

Sonic Adventure wasn't better than SA2. Although it was longer, you have to admit that Big the Cat's game is absolutely rubbish and that Amy Rose's game isn't too special.

And knuckles searches for gems in the orginal Sonic Adventure too.

dunno, but about Tony Hawks 3 it would be very hard to judge landing your tricks with only a quarter of the screen. I know in THPS2 on N64, it is difficult judging landings with only half the screen, and without the full height of the screen in multiplay, judging jumps etc. would be very difficult... maybe that's why the GC version had only 2 player multiplay...

The original question still stands:

Is it four player, or two player (like the Dreamcast version).
I've never owned the Dreamcast version so it'll be worth me getting, so long as I don't put on too many expectations.

Does anyone know how many people can play it simultaneously (planetgamecube failed to mention...)

Not much in it to be honest, same game, same dodgy pop-up that plagued the Dreamcast version too. Save for a couple of multi-player facility's. Doesn't justify the £45 required me thinks IMO.

Think I'll give this one a miss since I already have it on Dreamcast anyway.

As the ultimate authority on Sonic games, I have to say that Sonic Adventure 2 is soooo terrible after having played SA1. The original had 6 characters, all of them having games that lasted longer than the WHOLE of SA2. The original was fast, had the best bosses in any Sonic game, had a good plot, and great FMV sequences.

The sequal is just plain boring- I hate the "search for gems" levels, and the 2 player mode just doesn't work in 3d! I want the old 2d style!

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
