which game do you prefer? both of the games are very impressive!! i never played soul calibour on the dreamcast but i already played tekken 3 and tekken tag on the ps2. buy the way, when soul calibour be releasd for all the first generation consoles we can finally say goodbuy for the old dream cast.

i prefer souk cakibour 2 then tekken 4 because iv'e heard that the arcade version of tekken 4 were very disappointing, but i hope thet the ps2 version will be better then the arcade version.

Soul Calibur is undoubtedly the best of the two. It has better characters, gameplay, and a kick ar..*ahem* butt RPG element to t in the quest mode

What people don't realise is that Japanese and America versions of Tekken games run FAR FAR faster in America and Japan, and are not optimised for PAL release. This means that most gamers have never actually played the fast paced action game that Tekken should be.

Soul Calibur's PAL conversion was impecable- with 60Hz mode to go (PLEASE Namco, put this on the PS2 game!). It's fast, the adventure mode was HUGE with plenty of bonuses, and all the extra mode were excellent (survival, extra survival, cinema, computer battles...)

So, I'd be more inclined to get SC2 myself. But then again, as a huge beat 'em up fan I'll probably get both and VF4. A Powerstone games would be great too! (It's sooo under rated). Oh, and can anyone recommend a 2D figheter that's as good as Marvel vs Capcom???

Soul Calibur 2 or Tekken 4?? Lets first see if either is as good as the Dreamcast Soul Calibur. Its probably as near to a flawless fighting game as u can get. And i heard Maxi is being taken out of Soul Calibur 2 - what the hell?? taking out one of the best characters?? And to make it worse, there will be no character using the nunchuks. I hope i got my info wrong! Then they tell me the controls on Soul Calibur 2 will be easier, making moves and combo's easier to pull off (dumbing down the game some ppl call it haha).
Anyway, Tekken seems to be dying with age... Soul Calibur looks the better of the two. Its come a long way since the old Playstation version (it was called Soul something else cant remember) and the mission mode adds that axtra bit of game play last and adventure to it (sometimes you're fighting an invisible opponent - wow, can tekken offer that? hehe). Time for Tekken to move out the way!!!

I'm going for Tekken 4. It's been announced a Scrolling game will be included and because the arcade machine is PS2 based hardware it shouldn't be any different. I know the characters, the moves and Tekken 4 is the first PROPER next-gen tekken game so it's gona be damn good :-)

Don't forget Virtua Fighter 4 which may even be better than both of em ;-)

Yep, I reckon it still is probably the best graphical beat em up available on a home console. Well until Dead Or Alive 3 comes out for the X-Box.

Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast was, and still is, the best fighting game ever!

Tekken Tag is no where near as good.

I'll definitely get Soul Calibur 2. I'm sure it will be, without a doubt, the best beat em up yet, beatig VF4 and T4. Still, I'll probably get T4 and VF4 too because I really like Beat em ups. :-D
