im looking forward to legends of wrestling, cricket 2002, metal gear solid 2, destruction derby raw.
so what about u guys?
Apart from that MGS2, FF10, Wipeout and Cricket 2002 etc, all sounds expensive doen't it.
State of Emergancy
Wipeout Fusion
Timesplitters 2
Maximo
Ico
Medal of Honor Frontline
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Prisoner of War
FF X
TOCA
Star Wars Jedi Starfighter
Stuntman
The Getaway
Final Fantasy X
This is the pinnacle of all the series according to most pundits so far. With Final Fantasy XI being wholly online and Telewest still holding closed trials for UK broadband access, (and presumably working out a pay to play price alongside this process), this could be the last Final Fantasy game that I get to play for a couple of years. The reviews so far have mostly been positive, the main selling point (apart from being THE RPG that others set their standards by) is the computer graphics, and it's said to be well worth the investment of Sony's S-Video cable just for these alone.
TOCA Race Driver
Anyone who has played any of Codemaster's previous TOCA titles on the PSX or PSOne will know how addictive this series is in terms of driving gameplay. If they can keep the handling physics of the cars in this new PS2 version AND incorporate a story mode as well (where you play the driver himself rather than just pick a car and race it), then it's going to be without doubt one of the most fun driving games out there on its release.
Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty
Unless you've been hiding in a locker for the last two years you'll know why this is a game that I'm looking forward to. Hideo Kojima's unique approach to ingame atmosphere, diversity of gameplay and the fact that his games are nearly as good as watching a movie make this a mouthwatering prospect for any gamer. The original MGS was astounding and that was on the lowly PSX. Sons of Liberty is on the PS2, and you can be sure that the PS2 will be being pushed to its limits by this game.
Stuntman
Infogrames have always had a good track history in taking existing genres and giving them a twist so that they resemble something different, and Stuntman looks no exception to the rule. With realistic vehicle damage from doors flying off and exhausts crumpling plus the chance to star in your own 'movie' at the end of each level by meeting the film director's exacting standards when performing for the camera, the novelty value here is immense.
Other games that I'll probably pick up along the way:
Dropship
I haven't got an air combat title in my collection yet and this one is probably the most challenging out there.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Activision have announced that this great PC title is now in development for the PS2 and XBox, so I'll be waiting a while for it but feel it's worth getting.
Wipeout Fusion
This one has been delayed long enough, but racers don't come any faster or fun than this one. Again experience on the PSX versions leads me to think this title will be a winner with me.
Run Like Hell
The title was so novel that I checked this one out indepth. It's an Aliens/Survival Horror influenced first person shooter. But without the puzzle bits. And with lots of running away from scary beasties. 'Silent Hill 2 meets Star Trek' if the declared intentions of the developers are anything to go by.
