We had the N.E.S v The Master System.
We had the S.N.E.S v The Mega Drive
we had the N64 v the SATURN, Dreamcast and PSone
We now have a problem
So far even though we've had these 'wars'
there was never any clear winner.
Seriously was there any major technical difference between teh megadrive and snes? the nes and master sysytem?
No..not an amzing amount.
And the competition was limited.
two competitors you either supported a or b (nintendo or sega) and then it was sony for prativcally all.
Now we have Three excellent machines.
We have Microsoft, Nintendo and Sega.
Each machine has its strong points and its weak points.
The machines are all being targeted at teen agers as well practically. Its dribble that the gamecube appeals to 8 year olds. im 18 and i love the machine. A fun game is a fun game regardless of what it is about. Wether its joyriding in GTA3 (buy it you'll love it and special reserve Has the LOWEST ps2 game prices ive seen)
The friction comes in with teh price and allways really has.
We spenmd so much time and money on our consoles and we need to justify it and play down our worries.
So we raise pour consoles high and declare to all that my console is the best my opinion means more than yours my money was better spent.
And then it begins people lose objectivity and the cussing begins. the good names of mums everywhere suddenly become sullied.
What console am i going for?
The Cube of course.
In my opinion it has the best games looks etc
now you cant say im wrong you have no right and no grounds.
Sales figures mean nothing reviews mean nothing
just the same as what i tell you to be true will not be so for yourself so quoting figures has no affects.
Just as i can not say teh same to you.
Even though i love the cube i dont know how well its goign to do.
in fact i dont think its gonna outdo the xbox maybe the ps2.
To me the console will have lots more games that I like than any of the other consoles but that doesnt mean i will hate all teh other consoles or that i wont like some of the games that come out on them.
Im buying a copy of ff10 and i dont even have a PS2.

Thats borderline cruel and pathetic on my part. It shows extremely weak character on my part and i hope now that as i am no longer 10 and nead to make my mum and dad teh best by telling every one they bought me the best gamesconsole for christams and telling every one else who had say a mehgadrive that theres was rubbish and a waste of money.
In his opinion the ps2 may be far superior for hs own reasons.
easy soloution buy all three and laugh at any one who tries
to show off to you or put your console down.

yeah, but you've gotta admit it can be fun having arguments over consoles when neither of you are trying to influence an opinion, but they can be fun!

I think when release dates are too far apart it gets hard to put 'vs' between two console's names. NES and master system were very similar, 8 bit and on the market at the same time, but after that, when SNES came out, mega drive was so old that i don't think you can really use 'vs' there.
I'd say the same thing applies right up to ps2 really. Still, hopefully we'll get a good old versus from the cube and xbox.
