The world's gone mad.
(but don't say that in front of Turbonutter)
Thought it had something to do with Linux.
Indrema was the name of the thing, it went bust nearly two years ago.
Here's the news article:

"I also seem to remember there was some other console announced a year or two ago to supposedly compete with the current generation. Does anyone remember what that was called, or what happened to it?"
It was called the X-Box, one or two bought it, but the general Atari approach to gaming means it hasn't been as successful as some would hope.
;0)
Nah, I know what you're thinking about. It was canned, can't remember the name of it mind.
Whereas you can still play 'normal' games on the X-Box.
It's only the people who have broadband that will be able to get it, and that's not a lot. I also doubt the ones who haven't got it will go and invest in broadband just for this console, while there are other consoles that don't require it.
It's a pretty ridiculous concept for the present, way ahead of its time. It just won't work. Plus I'm sure if someone was actually planning on making the console, then they would have figured this out and wouldn't bother. This is why I think it's a hoax.

Yea, I agree, but even if this rumour does develop into something, and the console is released. I still dont think it'll do we'll, I imagine it will be very expensive to buy, and to play.
Your better buying a Mega Drive for £20 quid or something, if this console is indedd an 8-bit machine. I think we have enough choice when it comes to gaming anyway with the 3 consoles that are already out.
