I know people might be getting bored with the many posts about GTA3 and that many of you won't reply to newbies' post's for some stupid reason, but I just wanted to say that personally I have never had more fun playing a game. I loved it, beating an innocent passer-by purely to get his money or mowing down pedestrians doing a drive by shooting. I haven't yet played the missions on the game, only fooled around on it with a number of friends on the game but it was so much fun. I never thought that beating, shooting and running people over in a game would be as fun as it is. I always tried to run people over in Driver, but they always got away. Do the producers of driver not know what a thrilling and funny aspect they have missed out?? I could do it for hours (sounds sick I know) but it is so funny picking on defenseless civilians, and when they strike back, I can't stop laughing. I mean what an original idea to have in a game. Not having played any missions, I don't know if the background story is good, but if it was only a game without missions, I would love it so much and it would bring light to my life of few fights and fast cars.

Can someone please enlighten me on whether the missions are necessary in the game or if we can all get a smile on our faces without them.

You can always have a conscience, and only go after the gang members. Or the people you're getting paid to kill (conscience stops when money starts ;-) ). After all, you can't just keep killing multiple innocents and get away with it easily. Unless you do it near a 'Pay n Spray'.....

Not wanting to put you down or anything, but ever played Carmageddon on the PC?

Carmageddon, points for running people over and stunts got you a "Cunning stunt bonus" (try saying that fast and swap the c+st over).

One of the funniest games to play multiplayer too.
