Who thinks that FFXI is going to be a good game. I'm worried about the online factor ruining the tradition of the FF series. I've seen screens of this game and it just doesn't look like the FF games of old. FFX was awsome and the game makes you really feel like a part of the story by explaining that it is YOUR STORY. I feel that if this was an online game that it wouldn't of had the flare that it has now.
So, what do you think? Will the new online function help the game progress or will it just make the game less appealling to the die hard FF fans? I just hope it doesn't go like the movie and cause Sqaure to lose it all.

I feel that the online series would be interesting but they said that it would play kind of like Phantasy Star. The one thing that I do like about it though is that you just play as one character and not as many. This will make you feel like you are a bigger part of the game.
Also, the game will have to be very good if they exspect to make any money off the online fee.

well i'd say ff11 is a bit of a gamble as its a new idea for a console game and will be expensive to own, it would have to be very good to be a success.

It depends in the way which they handle it. It CAN be very good, if done right. I can bet that it will be P2P (a big downer), but at the right price, they can pull in a few million customers :) It looks like Squaresoft are trying to revolutionise the FF series with something new, but I suspect it to fail miserably. I don't see how this could push hardcore fans away, but only drag them in further to the world that is FF.

I can bet that it will be P2P (a big downer), but at the right price, they can pull in a few million customers :) It looks like Squaresoft are trying to revolutionise the FF series with something new, but I suspect it to fail miserably.
