I'm wondering if anybody could give me advice on the Blaze RGB Scart Lead for the PS2.

I bought this product mainly because I wanted to run the sound through my Hi-fi. If you know about this product or have taken a look at the URL I have provided above you'll know that there is a switch so if you want to watch a DVD in better quality you switch the swith to DVD, and obviously if you want to play a game in better quality then switch it to game.

The problem I have is when it is switched on DVD its fine I can play games as well as watching DVDs. However when I switch it to game the screen flickers and the view is zoomed in. A better way to describe it is if you were to stretch the screen on your monitor fully out both vertical and horizontal the screen only shows you the centre of the screen and you can't see what is on the outsides, so you only have a limited view.

Has anybody else had a problem like this? Any serious suggestions are welcome. I have attempted to change the output source on the PS2 system setup and that does nothing apart from turn the screen green. I have a fairly modern television set with 2 scart sockets in the back of the TV set.

Thanks

JB

That is just weird. The difference between 'game' and 'dvd' is that game is an RGB signal and dvd is a composite one. Most TVs that detect an RGB signal auto-switch to display that signal, and if it's a widescreen telly it will switch to a widescreen signal. You might have your PS2 set to the wrong aspect ratio?

Personally I would forget about switchable cables, get an integrated scart cable (the light gun one in Game has seperate phono leads as well) and DVD region X (so you can watch dvds with an RGB signal anyway).
