I think they will continue to play a major part in the games industry, developments in PC games development running parallel to console games development, but which, in the end, will come out the final winner is a good subject for debate. I don't think you should discount the PC so readily, it still has a great future in the marketplace, but I can see your point, it's not the market leader it once was, but my point is, could it ever be market leader again?
The topic is, afterall, the future of gaming, and this does not include just consoles.

Oh, and don't take this the wrong way, Big D, but if you are not typing this into a Dreamcast controller then could you try to use more punctuation, it makes your (interesting) prose easier to read.
The RPG influence comes from wandering around the town seeking information. There's two different battle systems within the game. One of which sees you pushing the buttons that you are prompted to. If you mess up, you have to do it again. And the other sees you battling using what Yu created, which is called FREE mode. FREE mode works, where by you can fight the enemies on screen Virtua Fighter style.

And how far into the future are we meant to be gazing with our crystal balls here? 1 year? 5 years? The gaming industry has developed so much over the last 18 years (from the ZX80) to where we are now, and silicone technology is advancing so rapidly today, who knows where we will be in a couple of years?
I have seen a definate shift from console to PC in recent years, but then Bill Gates' X-Box looks to be turning the trend back to consoles again, where will it all end? Will we have both consoles AND PCs in the future, or will some clever business finally manage to combine them all in one?
