Sorry, we didn't mean to fool you with that clever headline. Rage Software have only been out of business for just over a week, and the vultures are already circling, ready to pick at the bones of what was really an pretty good games company - well, they did make Rocky after all. By far the most promising of Rare's forthcoming titles was Lamborghini, but when the company was forced to close its doors, it was feared the game would slip into oblivion. Not so, thanks to Bill Gates and his Microsoft gang.
The deal hasn't been done and dusted yet, but receivers Ernst and Young have confirmed that buyers have been making offers on buying future Rage titles. "We can confirm that several parties are in discussions about buying various Rage games," said a spokesperson. "It's a shame that an outright sale of the lot couldn't be reached in time." Indeed, and what on earth will become of Rocky 2, the proposed sequel, which was announced the day before the company went under? These are things we must know!
Microsoft have expressed an avid interest in using Lamborghini to help promote their Xbox Live! broadband service, as the game will carry fully online content. A Microsoft spokesperson today said "We are not aware of any of this, but it might happen..." which coming from Microsoft is as good as a yes and a handshake from Bill Gates himself.
So, expect Lamborghini to make its appearance on Xbox as planned in summer this year. Unfortunately, this probably means the other planned versions (ie. PS2 and GameCube) will be canned. Ah well. But what of Rage's other titles, currently floating in videogame limbo, like Rolling and Team SAS? Ah, that's a whole other story...
YAY this is great news everyone new they would but least they have confirmed it now!! I would have thought thought though that they ight have made a big deal about team sas. If you dont no what this game is, shame on you. What do you think about this?
Generic Real Racer 3 has slipped through my fingers once again
