Dead or Alive 3:
Despite becoming the second most disappointing game of the year in America I am still optimistic about this forth-coming attraction (and the fact Luigi’s Mansion was the most disappointing title helped towards this). Dead or Alive 3 follows on from Dead or Alive 2 that appeared on the Dreamcast and slightly upgraded on the PS2, it features a wide array of characters (with many erm nice looking girls) and interactive environments where you throw your opponents through windows and high ledges. Dead or Alive 2 was short (10 minutes to complete) and Dead or Alive 3 is supposed to be similarly so, but what made this title so long was the desire to receive Kasumi’s 8th costume and play the game as every character to fit all the storyline pieces together. I loved Dead or Alive 2 in my mind better than any Tekken or Soul Calibur and so this is definatly a title I wish to get.
Halo:
I love First Person Shooters, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark of course ranks amongst the highest and although I have never played this game I somehow know this has already smashed the N64’s greats into smithereens (although Halo borrowed heavily from both). Halo is a First Person Shooter in the style of Perfect Dark, it is the X-box’s Triple A launch title and not without good reason. Halo looks VERY impressive and according to reviews and public opinion plays just as good as well. You play as Master Chief, he is the lone surviving super human (Spartans) who were created to fight the Covenant as they declared war on the humans. Your goal is to wipe out a mysterious ring called Halo and so begins an epic adventure, which all X-box owners should own.
Jet Set Radio Future:
The sequel to what is in my mind the Dreamcast’s finest title. Jet Set Radio features a collection of skaters, performing acrobatic stunts, causing some gorgeous looking graffiti and is set in some of the worlds most detailed and brilliantly designed levels. Amazingly simple to pick up and play and incredibly addictive, Jet Set Radio can stand along side some of the worlds gaming greats, which is why the sequel, Jet Set Radio future is one of my most anticipated titles. Skating along new arenas, with new missions, even bigger cities and with a whole host of new characters this title seems almost irresistible especially with a new addition of a multiplayer mode.
Project Gotham:
If one game can be said to rival Gran Turismo it has to be Metropolitan Street Racer so when the sequel is set as an X-box launch title I am understandably excited. I must say Driving Sims are not my favourite Genre but nevertheless this seems like a must have title. Gorgeous landscapes, fast cars and perfect handling, Project Gotham is perfect for any Driving fan and another reason for getting an X-box but be warned there is no Batman.
There is a list of four smash hit X-box titles, there is in fact many other interesting prospects such as Hitman 2. But despite the desire to get Microsoft’s new system I won’t be choosing it over the Gamecube, as I believe the Gamecube has a stronger line up but there is another factor that’s puts me off the system. No not the size, not the Controller either but the age-old classic, the price. For starters the game launches around the time of the Gamecube and I am not fortunate enough to afford both. Second of all, £350 for a console and a game! It’s stupid but before someone leaps in and says it is well worth it, I would like to point out that I am fully aware. DVD player, CD player, Top level specifications, MP3 and so many, many more but you see I don’t want them. If all these extras are driving the consoles price up then I will rather do without them!
I want a games machine that plays games at an affordable price a.k.a Gamecube not all these fancy extras such as a built in Modem (I may want one in the future and if I do I will buy one then maybe when I have more spare change). The only new feature I approve on the X-box that has driven the price up is the Hard Drive, Saving without use of memory card, memory cards are useful but I prefer to save on cart but now with the new age of discs it seems impossible but those clever boffins at Microsoft have invented an alternative to memory cards and I think it is brilliant. I am sure the PS3 and a future Nintendo console will use this idea and it is ideas like that, that make you realize the game industry is progressing in the right direction. Still I can’t afford and X-box and like many casual gamers I will wait until the price goes down.
Here’s to the future.
Dringo.
i was kinda confused when you were on abut the games genres.. i was tired and couldnt be f@?&£d to think last night a night of french composition was enough to kil any1's brains off...

Heh! A partial truth!
Seriously though, I suck at FPS games. Really badly. I can do like the basic levels, and eventually finish the game on 'Agent' (In Goldeneye, for instance) but stick me in the 00 Agent difficulty, and I haven't got a hope!
As such I wouldn't buy a console on the strength of it's FPS games. I quite enjoy them, but it's not a genre that will draw me to a console.
The types of games I like best are the adventure games. Games like Jak and Daxter, or Mario or Zelda, the kind of games usually found on Nintendo platforms.
I mean I do enjoy other games, but what would be the point of thinkng about getting anything other than the Gamecube (given that I can afford only one console) when that's the console that will have most of the types of game I like best?
I've always said if you're into racing games, the PS2 would be a great console for you, and it looks like the Xbox will have some great ones too, but it's not MY favourite genre.

Excellent. The only reason to buy any games system.
Personally I don't see the appeal in Dead or Alive 3. I'm not a big fan of beat 'em-up's, I liked Street Fighter2, but nothing else has really interested me in the genre. This seems to be typical beat 'em-up with breasts. But hey, that makes it better than typical beat 'em-up without breasts!
Halo looks alright, but FPS just isn't my genre. The best FPS ever just wouldn't sell a system to me, though it would to many others.
Project Gotham Racing again looks like a good racer, but racers aren't the games I like. Except kart racers, which I feel are more fun.
Jet Set Radio Future. I don't really know much about it, as such I don't think I want it.
So the Xbox doesn't appeal to me, just like Mario, Luigi, Zelda and the like don't appeal to so many other people.
Hopefully X-Box will have a nice stream of good games coming out in the months after the release.
I am getting an xbox, and with good reason. The games on xbox appeal to me more than any other system.
Sure, the GC will have Mario and Zelda but when will these games arive? They could be on the shelve in years instead of months. The launch line up is what i'm comparing the two consoles on and the xbox wins it for me.
I pre-order my xbox with Halo yesterday, and i'm very excited.
