The year…is 2002 – We live in a world where nothing can be created that can be revolutionary. Yes, there are many things we can use to make life better, but the word, as we know it does not need anything else. My point is like this: - There is nothing we need anymore in this day and age. We have automobiles to get us from A to B, we have computers to manage financial problems, mathematic equations, graphical designs, and almost everything we wish to develop. We have machinery to produce our designs, we have food and water to stay alive…and we have our wonderful consoles, videogames and movies to keep us occupied. So what more could we possibly ask for? Money? Yes…it would be nice to be rich and go to a local games store to buy an XBOX on launch date without worrying about its price, but if we can live with what we have now and be happy at the same time, then life is just perfect then. Look at Bill Gates. Now, he can literally go to a shop right this minute, buy something, and never worry about where the money came from. If I were in his shoes, I would buy a Lamborghini on Monday, an Aston Martin on Tuesday and a Ferrari on Wednesday. And all this expense would have come out of my interest from my bank account. I hope Bill Gates is doing those things; if not, then he has no idea on how to enjoy life, LOL. I know it’s good to value money, and I know that even if I were so rich to buy those things everyday, I wouldn’t even be able to use them. I mean I would only need one car, really. Anyway, Microsoft makes around 20 million a day from sales, and Bill Gates himself, must take home at least 5 million a week, if not more. I just hope he does do something with that money; which reminds me…I watch these adverts about giving £2 a month to save the people in third world countries, and I keep wondering why this advert is keep going on? Don’t rich celebrities donate anything towards the fund. Bill Gate’s can save all the countries in as little as a month, so why is this advert still going on. He can actually hand out just over $7 to everyone in the world, and still have enough money left over to live a good life. I recently called in about the policy of these adverts, and how the money is used, and you know what they told me? They said that after paying the workers their salary and all other expenses; out of the £2 given in by each person, only 2 pence from each £1 is donated towards the fund. Is that disgusting or is that DISGUSTING! Maybe I am wrong, perhaps people like Bill Gates are giving millions to them, but why has nothing worked? That’s what gets me!
So anyway, coming back to having everything the world needs, I think the only way we can add things to this age is by enhancing the things we have now. Take the Television for example. Now, the Television can be enhanced in many different ways, (one’s that I would like to patent myself, so my apologies for not sharring my ideas), but I am sure you all get the point in what I mean. Another good example is computers. Even though they worked as well as we want them to all this time, they can also be enhanced; not only in power, but in design to, in creativity. That’s the word I am looking for here, “Creativity”. This is what makes everything look better. Take the movies for example. How about...Star Wars? If you look at the layout of each city in that film, (referring to the added footage in the original movies), you will notice that everything is there. We have transport today only in the movie, it’s more enhanced. They hover, humans can travel though space much easier and they are more powerful, but it’s no different to what we have today. We can travel though space, we have transport…it’s no different whatsoever, only different in a futuristic setting to match its age of design.
One day, the movies will be real. What you saw in Blade Runner will be, what you saw in Star Wars will also happen someday. Man will be able to travel though Hyperspace, and think nothing of it. One day, we will have ships as seen in WipeOut Fusion, and we will be able to weave through environments as seen in Blade Runner and everything will be just as we dreamed.
I only hope I live to see it, and at a young age, too.
