Basically this what happened....
As you may know Intel made their own memory type called RD Ram which was 800mhz bus speed
Intel did this so they could make more money because the p4 motherboards could only take Rdram.
However QDI (motherboard manufacturer) decided to develop a motherboard that used DDR ram in a P4 motherboard, but
intel did not want this so QDI took Intel to court about it.
In the end QDI won and now you can get a motherboard that supports DDR Ram.
