I'm a teenager myself and I damn know that I can be very annoying and complicated at times etc, but I just want to make a few remarks about teenagers in society today. Teenagers are no longer happy and innocent, but they have been raped by life an spat out onto the pavement, where they smash up cars, break hearts and in extreme instances, even kill. Here's some examples from my school of foolishness and annoyance from the best of breed: teenagers.

Some people in year 10 parade around car parks, smashing the windows etc and just basically destroying any petrol-powered lump of metal framework in site. One even apparently smashed a window screen with his head! I asked my friend (who knows the 'gang') why they do this, and he replied 'They do it for fun' and I just thought 'What a waste of a life'. You could be doing something wholesome, like going out shopping or to the cinema or meeting your girlfriend, but THAT is not my or many people's (on here I imagine too) idea of fun.

The next example is of teenages growing up too quickly and wanting to be 'cool'. Last year, a friend of mine was suspended for carrying Cannabis. Lucikly, he came back 2 months later, but I'm sad to report that he is now a smoker. I saw people literally begging him for some cigs, as if they were about to die if they didn't get one. Two girls in my year have already had sexual intercourse, and a friend who knew told the mother, but surprisingly, the mother was fine about it. I know my parents wouldn't be. There are probably over 30 smokers in my year, but I am glad to report that I don't think any of them are taking drugs. All of the people I have just mentioned are 13/14 years of age! I want to enjoy my childhood and live it long, not rush it! Teachers are partly to blame, calling us 'young adults', which we are not until at LEAST 15 or 16, depening on your maturity.

Some of you were probably a bit bemused when I said 'breaking hearts', but that will come into full focus now. There is a girl in my school, who is reasonably attractive, yet she's gone through 10-20 boyfriends in the space of 2 and a half years! I would like to go out with her, but I imagine it would be only a few nights stand, like her previous boyfriend, who she broke up with yesterday, after a three day 'skit' with him. I have bigger fish to fry, I suppose. Just yesterday, I saw two teenagers in my class acting extremely silly. A girl was going out with Boy A, but she fancied Boy B, so she broke up with Boy A, but now says she wants to go out with Boy B and go back to Boy A, but now a Boy C is involved and she fancies him. Everyone involved is going to get hurt if she doesn't choose one of them. Firstly, she isn't using her common sense and secondly, she's handling the situation very immaturely (is that even a word), by leading them all on. If I were in her shoes (heaven forbid), I would sit all three boys down and talk to them rationally and then sort it out like an adult, not that I am one! :P

Anyone else have examples of teenagers acting stupid?

There is no other boat fishing mag to compare it to.From what has been said it is just that the Warners publishing group want to redirect their revenue towards some of their larger publications. If this particlular mag goes to the wall then there Will be a big hole left in the boat fishing information available in this area of our sport.Other mags that have a small boat section in them unfortunatly do not cover the same range of events or cover the new fishing tackle that becomes available to "us" in the same way that B F M does, unfortunate but true.

Yes, it's not about the talent and the knowledge of Dave & co,it's just rotten timing re magazine sales and probably the availability and dominance of the leading title in comparison.

It is sad, but not surprising, everyone now seems to be getting hit by the downturn!
Hopefully something gets sorted out for Dave, but I suspect things are going to get tougher and tougher in the paper magazine world! Less and less are getting out on boats because of the high fuel prices, less and less are buying new boats because people have less money to spare, everything seems to be getting harder and harder because of the squeeze and it is the likes of BFM that seems to suffer.
I think an online mag would be the way to go, if it is possible. If it can be sussed out and an efficient way to make money can be found, it would be a win win situation, with so much room for expansion.

The sad news that unless a backer can be found Boat fishing monthly will be publishing its last issue in april. This is surely a big shock to us all here at mannin angling as we were all looking forward to the return of the intrepid Duo. No doubt they hopefully will land on their feet and still be a force in the angling world for us all to enjoy for years to come.
